In a sprawling metropolis an extraordinary anomaly known as The Myst, a time-space rift, has forged a unique coexistence between two cities a thousand years apart: The advanced, neon-lit skyscrapers of New Nocturna and the gas-lit, cobblestone streets of Old Nocturna. The Myst between them, appearing over a millennium ago, has merged the edges of two disparate eras into a singular, enigmatic reality, visible at the same time—they are the same city— each the past and future of itself. At the heart of this phenomenon is the Breedlove family, a lineage of shapeshifters whose origins are deeply entwined with the mystery of The Myst. They are the protectors, and sometimes disruptors, of the balance between the two Nocturnas, uniquely able to traverse the time barrier and manipulate the energies that intertwine the past and the future. Vincent Breedlove, a brooding idealist, is hired by Jonathan Cane, a wealthy industrial titan from the future, to protect his ancestor who is in danger from his enemies. If she is killed, Cane’s entire history will vanish into thin air, because it will never have existed. Vincent could not have foreseen the decisions he’d be forced to make regarding the woman he was hired to protect, leading to unimaginable implications for her descendant, Jonathan Cane. Breedlove presents a richly woven narrative that blends elements of mystery, science fiction paradox theory, family drama, and romance. The setting is captivating and visually vivid. Vincent Breedlove’s character, burdened yet resilient, anchors the story with his internal conflicts and responsibilities as a time-traversing shapeshifter. The series promises intrigue with its blend of personal dilemmas, ethical questions, and the broader implications of its inhabitants actions that affect Nocturna of the past and of the future.
